Welcome to the 10th International Workshop on
Folk Music Analysis (FMA 2020)

FMA2020, which was originally planned to take place from 29 June to 1 July in Aalborg, Denmark, has unfortunately been cancelled.

The International Workshop on Folk Music Analysis features research on traditional music and musical cultural heritage from interdisciplinary perspectives, including musicology, cultural studies, computer science and music information retrieval. It provides a forum that encourages sharing of ideas, needs, research methods and discoveries among ethnomusicologists, musicians, librarians, museum curators, computer scientists and music information retrieval researchers. The workshop aims to foster cross-disciplinary exchange and collaborative networks and to prompt new concepts, techniques and tools that promote an enriched understanding of traditional music and the preservation and dissemination of world musical cultural heritage.

Previous FMA workshops have been held in Athens (FMA 2011), Seville (FMA 2012), Amsterdam (FMA 2013), Istanbul (FMA 2014), Paris (FMA 2015), Dublin (FMA 2016), Malaga (FMA 2017), Thessaloniki (FMA 2018) and Birmingham (FMA 2019).

FMA 2020 will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the workshop series. For the first time FMA will collaborate with Springer, and full papers will be published by Springer in post-workshop proceedings in the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series.
